Visit Ebenezer Church & Shop

A visit to Ebenezer Church offers more than an opportunity to explore one of Australia's most remarkable historic churches. It is also a chance to experience the hospitality that has been part of this community for generations.

The historic Schoolmaster's House, built in 1817, is home to the Ebenezer Church Shop, where volunteers welcome visitors with traditional Devonshire teas and a selection of locally made jams, crafts, souvenirs and books.

Visitors can also discover photographs and memorabilia that tell the story of Ebenezer Church and the families who helped establish the Hawkesbury community.

Whether you're exploring the region, researching family history, or simply looking for a peaceful place to enjoy morning or afternoon tea, we look forward to welcoming you.

The church and Schoolmaster's House shop are generally open Wednesday to Sunday, thanks to our dedicated volunteer team.

Visitors are welcome to explore the historic church grounds, cemetery and surrounding precinct. A self-guided tour pamphlet is available from the church porch, providing information about the church, cemetery, churchyard and historic tree across Coromandel Road.

The Schoolmaster's House contains an interesting collection of historical photographs and memorabilia.

Opening days: Wednesday to Sunday
Public holiday arrangements: Closed on Good Friday and for approximately ten days over Christmas.

Please note: Card payment facilities are not currently available, so visitors are encouraged to bring cash.

Ebenezer Church welcomes group visits, including coach tours, car clubs, community organisations and social groups.

Groups can arrange Devonshire teas or lunches at the Schoolmaster's House, providing an opportunity to enjoy traditional hospitality in a beautiful historic setting.

We can also arrange a talk about the fascinating history of Ebenezer Church for visiting groups at no additional charge.

We encourage groups to book in advance so that our volunteers can make suitable arrangements.
