Baptisms at Ebenezer Church

Baptism: A Celebration of God's Love

Baptism celebrates God's love and invites us into the Christian community.

In the Uniting Church, baptism is understood as a sacrament — a visible sign of God's grace, through which we recognise God's loving relationship with us.

Baptism is available to people of all ages, from infants and children to adults who wish to commit to the Christian faith.

For families bringing children for baptism, it is an occasion to give thanks for the gift of life, celebrate the love surrounding a child, and make promises to nurture that child in faith and love.

For adults, baptism can mark a significant step in their faith journey.

Whatever has brought you to consider baptism, we would be pleased to explore its meaning with you.

Arranging a Baptism

At Ebenezer Church, we hold baptisms during our Sunday morning worship service, allowing the congregation to welcome and support those being baptised.

We generally arrange baptisms for children from one family per service so each occasion receives appropriate attention.

Before the baptism, the minister will meet with you to discuss its meaning, the promises involved and the arrangements for the service.

You do not need to have all the answers about faith before making an enquiry. We welcome the opportunity to talk with you about your questions and hopes.

To enquire about baptism, please contact Ebenezer Church. We would be delighted to hear from you and discuss the next steps.
